Getting involved in your local community

Everyone can help to deliver our SCS shared priorities by getting involved in their local community and helping to improve quality of life across North Somerset.

 
Developing Strong Inclusive Communities
  • Have you thought about volunteering?  Voluntary Action North Somerset has details of many opportunities across North Somerset, contact them on 01934 416486.
  • Find out if your town or village is preparing a Parish Plan and get involved.
  • Become a local councillor and raise the issues that matter to your community.  For more information view the National Association of Local Councils website.
  • What about becoming a school or college governor?

Ensuring Safer Communities
  • Report crime, anti-social behaviour or suspicious incidents to Avon and Somerset Police Call 101. If you are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impared use text phone 18000 101.

Living within environmental limits
  • Use public transport, cycle or walk to reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions
