Communities and People
Our vision for North Somerset in 2025 is:
- To have reduced levels of inequality in all communities.
- To ensure all areas have good services and range of options.
- To a have vibrant, co-ordinated range of community, voluntary and social enterprise groups.
Our objectives are to:
- Deliver regeneration and increase community capacity in areas of need.
- Increase the number and range of activities available for children and young people.
- Support the 'capacity building' of voluntary and community groups.
Our progress:
All the immediate actions within the Community Strategy have been completed or are well underway.
In addition, work has begun on the following actions:
- Monitoring progress and development of the Compact for North Somerset.
- Supporting the Fair Share Trust work programme.
- Supporting the safer stronger communities element of the LAA.
- Contributing to the Neighbourhood Management Programme.
Getting involved:
Everyone can get involved in their community and help to improve quality of life across North Somerset for all.
Here are some suggestions:
- Find out if your town or village is preparing a Parish Plan and get involved. Contact Community Action on 01275 393937 or the Parish Planning Officer at North Somerset Council on 01275 884327
