Draft Single Plan for Children & Young People - 2010-2014
The Children's Trust Board is currently seeking views on the draft Single Plan for Children and Young People for the period 2010 to 2014.
This plan will form the strategic vision for services across partnership agencies during this period, and it is important that it reflects the experiences, voices and aspirations of children and young people, along with the partnership colleagues who work to support them.
The plan will set out the high level priorities, actions and impact measures for children's services development across the five Every Child Matters outcomes of: Stay Safe, Be healthy, Enjoy & Achieve, Achieving Economic Wellbeing and Making A Positive Contribution. The plan also sets out partnership action to provide support for parents and carers.
The key themes of the plan are:
- Narrowing the gap in terms of well-being, attainment and opportunity for children and young people – particularly as it is reflected in geographical variations and for our most vulnerable children and young people.
- 'Thinking Family' – recognising the need to form a 'team around the family' in order to ensure better outcomes for children and young people. Key areas reflected in both local and national Serious Case Reviews include children of substance misusing parents, children living with domestic violence and children of parents with poor mental health.
How can I get involved?

A wide range of events to engage with stakeholders is now being undertaken. This includes a programme of work with children and young people which is being delivered in association with Barnados.
